It’s like reading the Democratic talking points – aid (money) for the unemployed, aid (money) for cities and states, more aid (money) for cities, end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. One would think that the unions are in bed with the Democrats. And one would be right. The worst idea is the moratorium on [...]

GM to investors: You can bet on our team…
…unless we go into super double-secret probation bankruptcy again, then you’re screwed, because we’ll be protecting the unions again and not you guys. But please buy our stock anyway.

Wayne County retirees have been getting a Christmas bonus for the last 25 years. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. How can they rationalize giving out bonuses to people who no longer work?
County retirees will miss the checks, no doubt, and we understand that losing them will be painful. The county should never [...]

The title is intriguingly Orwellian – “Extending unemployment will help create jobs” – and often repeated by the Democrats and their shills in the unions, like this thug, but he doesn’t make the case at all. It reads like a Nancy Pelosi press conference. He mentions all the Democratic talking points – green jobs, Bush [...]

I’m guessing that the unions know Michigan’s next governor will be whoever wins the Republican primary, so they’re putting their support behind dark horse Democrat Virg Bernero, mayor of Lansing. But why spend so much money, upwards of $2.5 million, on someone who has no chance of winning? Not too bright.

The same policies that bankrupted GM and Chrysler are having the same effect on states, counties, and cities across America. The burden of union pensions and health care are killing services that governments should be providing. Instead, states like Illinois are on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars for retired school administrators. States [...]

The unions and their enables, the Democrats, wreak havoc wherever they have complete control. The city of Detroit is a fine example of Democratic policies that have been in effect for 40 years, without much opposition. Schools are another instance of union failures. Put them together and you get the disaster that is the DPS:
There’s [...]

The federal government spends $500 billion a year on goods and services. A new policy in the works by President Barack Obama’s administration could drive up costs even more for taxpayers. The administration is contemplating a “responsible contractor” policy in which bidders that provide higher pay and richer benefits for their workers [...]

We have the ability to demand that lawmakers do more to ensure that good-paying jobs are created here in the United States.
Or we can sit back and watch the lion’s share of these jobs — which will provide content for cars sold in the United States — go to foreign workers.
Well, Ron, maybe if UAW [...]

While the rest of us suffer during The Great Recession, state union workers are expected to get a 3 percent pay raise this year. Unless the state legislature steps in, which they should. But will Granholm agree? Doubtful, since she is the one that negotiated the scheduled increase with the unions and she’s the lamest [...]
