‘Duh’ Headline Of The Week…

Analysis: ObamaCare will not deliver on promise.  Thanks for the tip.

Immigration Rhetoric

Most rhetoric on the Arizona immigration bill has been, well, rhetoric.  Separating fact from fiction:

It is unfair to demand that aliens carry their documents with them. It is true that the Arizona law makes it a misdemeanor for an alien to fail to carry certain documents. “Now, suddenly, if you don’t [...]

Wrong Incentive

Instead of giving teachers a bundle of money to retire, how about we given them an incentive to keep their jobs.  For example, if your 90% of your students cannot pass a standardized test, then you’re fired.  Some may quit over that, which would produce the same result as the proposed incentive.

Why Illegals In AZ Matter To MI

“To give illegal aliens representation when they can’t even vote shouldn’t happen,” [U.S. Rep Candice] Miller says. “My district is almost 100 percent legal residents. The 31st District in California, near Los Angeles, is 40 percent illegal. And yet the vote from that district counts just the same as the vote from [...]

Good Luck With That

A state representative says he plans to introduce legislation within the next two weeks that would compel communities to follow a public act requiring them to set speed limits according to specific formulas.
Cash-strapped cities use speed traps to help balance their shrinking budgets and this unfunded mandate won’t help.  Sounds like a state rep [...]

Bank On It

Congress may want to be careful how far it digs when “investigating” the causes of the recent financial crisis.  While the Freep and the rest of the mainstream media will provide cover for the Congressmen and their banking cronies, especially Fannie and Freddie, blogs will make sure to report the real story.  Government regulations and [...]

Redistribution of Wealth

As with the federal government, states, counties, and cities need to learn to live within their means.  They are far too reliant on “revenue sharing” which is just a euphemism for redistribution of wealth.  Thanks to the public employee unions, cities are now facing the same problems that GM and Chrysler encountered.  You can’t keep [...]

Run, Fieger, Run

Yes, Fieger, please run for governor.  Not only would the race be more entertaining, it would guarantee a Republican victory.  Actually, thanks to eight years of Granholm, the GOP is almost certain to win, no matter who runs on either side of the ticket.  Fieger would just add some much needed levity.

State of the State

Gov. Granholm thinks that Michigan has hit bottom, thanks largely to her own failed policies.  We were certainly ‘blown away’ after eight years of fiscal irresponsibility.  And the media needs to stop the meme that GM paid back its loan early.  GM used taxpayer bailout money to pay back taxpayer loan money.  Michigan won’t recover [...]

Obama Lied, People Will Die

No surprises here.  The three-headed monster of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid had to lie about the price tag of the health-care bill in order to get it passed:
But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president’s twin goal of controlling runaway costs. It also warned that Medicare cuts may [...]
