Pattern
In the latest in a series of Obama mistakes, The One takes credit for the stimulus bill in which taxpayers (and some non-taxpayers) got some chump change back from the money grabbers in Washington (as opposed to the money grabbers in Lansing). A couple of problems here. First, it wasn’t his idea. Hell, it wasn’t even an original idea, seeing as we’ve gotten checks from the government before. Also, the economy isn’t in great shape. Here in Michigan, we have an unemployment rate of 8.5%. For someone who is out of work, getting a check that can cover half of their house payment isn’t going to help much.
Then there’s the fact that he pays women on his staff much less than the men, while calling for equal pay for equal work. And, of course, his major gaffe calling McCain too old to be president because he doesn’t use e-mail. Not only does this play poorly to senior citizens, a major voting block, the reason McCain doesn’t e-mail is because of the wounds he sustained as a POW.
Obama’s inexperience and the press’ refusal to vet the man have produced one of the worst major presidential candidates that I can recall. Obama would be wise to shake up things, starting with his staff. It worked for McCain, but it would mean Obama would have to admit that things aren’t going so well and that his current message isn’t working.
