Status Quo

Of course the labor unions are pleased with the $25 billion loan the US government gave the automakers, well before the recent bailout.  It allows the unions to continue to strong-arm the car companies.  Otherwise, they’d have to agree to more concessions.  Instead, labor costs will still be high, keeping Michigan’s unemployment ridiculously high.
